University of Notre Dame
The University of Notre Dame Australia has three campuses; Fremantle, Sydney and Broome. The Sydney Campus has two sites, Broadway and Darlinghurst.
The School of Nursing opened in February 2006 on the University Broadway site, moving to the new Darlinghurst site in early 2008.
All degrees offered by the School are accredited with the respective Australian and New South Wales regulatory authorities. Commonwealth Supported Places (CSP), formerly known as the Higher Education Contribution Scheme (HECS), have been approved by the Commonwealth Government.
The School of Nursing provides a dynamic environment where each student is valued for the contribution they make, small or large, to our development and mission. Parallel to this is the care and nurture we as staff embrace so that each student feels supported and able to work towards their full potential in a student-centred environment.
The School of Nursing, Fremantle and Broome offers a three-year course that includes thirty-nine weeks of clinical practice in areas ranging from aged care to critical care. This program is truly comprehensive with its aim to expose students to a wide variety of clinical experiences. An important aspect of this clinical education, which is novel to Western Australia and to most other parts of the country, is the use of mentors who provide one-on-one clinical supervision for our students.
The School also offers postgraduate studies with courses ranging from Graduate Certificates to a Doctor of Nursing program. The postgraduate courses provide further and continuing education to nurses with or without previous degrees.
