Administrative Assistant | Nephrology

About the Role
Under the direction of the Director of Nephrology, the Administration Assistant is accountable for clerical and administrative support to the Nephrology Department to ensure effective and efficient running of the Department. The Administration Assistant will be required to assist the Director and senior staff within the Department to achieve the Departments strategic goals. In addition the Administration Assistant will be required to manage departmental and interdepartmental communications and ensure all support is provided within the policies , procedures and values of the organisation.

  • Maintain and provide a high level of customer service and professional standards at all times
  • Manage phone enquires, IT maintenance and repair, invoices, couriers, mail, stationary and office repairs
  • Manage multiple diaries, organise travel and arrange meetings where appropriate
  • Liaison with all direct reports to the director on behalf of and as required.
  • First point of contact for patients, referring GP’s, drug and clinical trial company representatives

The classification for this position will be HS3 ($74,448 per annum).

Your Contribution

  • Certificate V or equivalent Office Administration
  • Knowledge of Health environments
  • Highly proficient computer skills (Advanced skill in Microsoft Office packages)
  • Previous experience in an administrative position within a medical practice setting
  • Demonstrated highly developed written, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain

About the Nephrology Department
St Vincent’s Hospital Renal service provides care for patients across the entire spectrum of renal disease, from the ambulatory care of those with CKD to meeting the dialysis and transplant needs of those with ESKD. SVHM is known as a hub provider of renal services supporting a number of regional and rural satellite as well as in-centre renal dialysis facilities.

Our dialysis service comprises haemodialysis (acute and chronic), home dialysis (home haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis) with the service currently providing medical support for patients undergoing maintenance dialysis and patients with CKD stage 4/5 (all approaching ESKD and dialysis) state wide.

The service has a strong research focus and is committed to research that can improve quality of life for patients with chronic kidney disease.
