We currently have an amazing opportunity for Career Medical Officers to join our dynamic team at the Mater Hospital -North Sydney
The primary role of the ward Career Medical Officer (CMO) is to provide medical care for general ward inpatients at the Mater Hospital. This will include assessment, investigation, treatment, and referral of the patient in consultation with the Admitting Medical Officers (AMO - this is the Visiting Medical Officer that the patient has been admitted under at this time) and other members of the treating team. The CMO is required to liaise and communicate effectively with other Visiting Medical Officers (VMOs), Registrars, Nursing and Allied Health staff in regard to the patient’s ongoing clinical management plans and diagnostic requests.
About you
The candidate must have:
- A current registration with AHPRA
- Post-graduate year 4 or above
- A current membership of Medical Defence Union
- A commitment to the Philosophy, Mission, Values and Ethics and Code of Conduct of St Vincent’s Health Australia
- Strong commitment to providing excellent clinical care
- Commitment to continued professional development
- Recent acute inpatient hospital care experience in both medical and surgical areas
- Strong commitment to and demonstration of the values of compassion, integrity, justice & excellence.
- Demonstrated commitment to best practice and quality management participation
- Proven ability to work as a contributing and cooperative member of a team
- Excellent time management skills.
