Clinical Lead Medical Oncology

The Role:
We are looking for a Clinical Lead of Medical Oncology to join a regional Victoria Hospital, you will be expected to provide specialist clinical haematology services, within credentialed privileges to patients at the Hospital and at outreach sites in collaboration with other clinical Haematologists, this may include performing a share of on-call duties and responsibilities.

Duties to include:

  1. Perform bone marrow biopsies
  2. Work towards the provision of best practice care to all patients in the context of current professional knowledge and organisational resources.
  3. Promote and maintain the core values of the Hospital with sense of pride and purpose of the organisation and the service.
  4. To provide supervision and training to medical students, interns, registrars, and other junior medical and nursing staff.
  5. Ensure appropriate interaction and service integration with other relevant services, especially the medical services, Radiotherapy, Palliative Care/Hospice, Chemotherapy, Allied Health and the Emergency Department.
  6. Participate actively in the service audit, other Quality Assurance, and Improvement

The Hospital:
A specialist referral and trauma centre, a purpose-built teaching Hospital catering for a population of more than 250,00. The medical services offered at the Hospital elective surgery, emergency care, aged care, obstetrics, mental health, pharmacy, rehabilitation, and medical and radiation oncology.

It has 4 operating theatres and specialises in general surgery, orthopaedic, ophthalmology, gynaecology, and obstetrics as well as ear, nose and throat surgery and urology. As a teaching hospital it is affiliated with Monash University's School of Rural Health and Federation University and provide placements and clinical experience for students.

Skills & Qualifications required:

  • Significant experience working in a major hospital.
  • FRACP specialising in Oncology
  • Specialist registration with AHPRA
