Clinical Research Coordinator

Here within our brand new North Shore Health Hub in St Leonard's, we have an exciting, full-time, permanent opportunity for a Clinical Research Coordinator focusing on Cardiology, Sleep and Respiratory Medicine. By leading a team of Clinical Research Coordinators across the state, you will conduct all trials according to the clinical trial protocol and regulatory guidelines and you will monitor and drive patient recruitment.

You will work closely with the National Research Manager and Research Operations Manager to improve processes and systems that increase recruitment and optimise efficiency.

You will ensure that all research is conducted in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Guidelines, the National Health and Medical Research (NHMRC) standards, the Australian Safety and Quality Framework for Health Care and relevant Australian laws and regulations.

What you’ll do:

  • Work with the Clinical Research Lead and Start Up team to ensure the efficient and timely start-up of all research projects
  • Attend Pre-Study and Site Initiation Visits for allocated trials
  • Administer and dispense medications and injections
  • Have a thorough understanding of all trials being conducted in the state, particularly the protocol, investigator brochure, participant information and consent forms, budget, timelines and safety reporting requirements
  • Establish and organise study files, including regulatory binders, study specific source documentation and other materials as required
  • Work with the Team Lead to develop and update patient recruitment plans and ensure
  • recruitment targets and timelines are met
  • Work closely with the Team Lead and Investigators to manage day-to-day research activities
  • Liaise directly with patients to ensure they are aware of all trial related requirements and ensure they attend all trial related appointments and assessments
  • Be available to discuss any trial related queries with patients and liaise with investigators to ensure all questions and concerns are addressed
  • Schedule protocol specific assessments and procedures ensuring Investigators are available during study visits to perform required tasks
  • Liaise with and facilitate collaboration between relevant hospital departments and third parties to ensure the provision of quality clinical services
  • Work with the Clinical Research Lead to prepare for and host pre-study and site initiation visits
  • Prepare for and host monitoring and close out visits
  • Maintain all study related documentation and ensure data queries are completed in a timely manner
  • Complete all study close out activities including archiving of all study records
  • Maintain open and regular communication with key stakeholders, in particular sponsor representatives
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge in regulatory, administrative and clinical frameworks and current clinical issues and practice as they pertain to research
  • Complete all tracking and reporting activities in the required timelines
  • Ensure all research is conducted in accordance with GenesisCare SOPs, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Guidelines, study specific protocols and all applicable national and international laws and regulations
  • Complete all mandatory and trial specific training as required.

Who you are:

  • An undergraduate degree deemed equivalent in Science, Nursing, Pharmacy or related disciplines
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in nursing or clinical research
  • Can administer and dispense medications and injections
  • Strong computer literacy with knowledge of clinical trials software and MS Office suite
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in an effective, pro-active and co-operative manner
  • High level of initiative and flexibility and the ability to meet deadlines while balancing multiple priorities
  • Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice and applicable national and international laws and regulations.
  • Flexibility in working times and locations
  • Ability to travel interstate, if required
