Community Continence Nurse - Horsham

Seeking an experienced Continence Nurse Advisor to join this supportive and multidisciplinary team who will be responsible for the development and management of the Continence Service. This community-based position will be assisting clients and their carers with continence management issues.

In this role you will be working in the community providing evidence-based continence assessment, intervention and education to people through the NDIS in regional areas in Western Victoria. This position also provides the opportunity to provide services to people in residential aged and disability care. Services are provided in a range of community settings, including client homes, aged care facilities and the clinic. Post Graduate qualifications in Continence Assessment and Management essential.

As part of this supportive team that promotes continuing professional development, you will receive financial assistance to attend upskilling courses to increase service capacity and scope of practice.

Essential Criteria:
  • Current AHPRA nursing registration (Division 1)
  • Postgraduate qualification in Continence Management
  • Paediatric experience preferred but not essential
  • Demonstrated evidence of currency of clinical practice and commitment to contemporary, evidence-based Continence Management Practice
  • Demonstrated organisational skills and the capacity to successfully manage competing priorities and meeting deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to manage complaints and conflict
  • Excellent written skills and ability to write progress notes, assessments and reports
  • Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a cohesive multi-disciplinary team
  • Competence in computer literacy
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Current Victorian Driver’s License, Police Check and Working with Children’s Check

Working with people of all ages with any level of disability, working from a family-centred, goal-directed, multidisciplinary approach to service delivery. This is done through a comprehensive assessments and interventions which can take place in consumer’s homes, communities, places of employment or in our clinic.
