Community Engagement Coordinator - OPEN ARMS WA



The position aims to optimise a client’s wellbeing and participation in their community through community engagement, collaborative recovery work and complex case management. The position incorporates the development and maintenance of community partnerships and the provision of direct evidence informed support to individuals and/or their families. The position also focuses on team leadership, service design, delivery and evaluation.

Here is your chance to give back! Working under the Department of Veteran Affairs and based in Rockingham/ Mt. Pleasant, Open Arms provides mental health services to veterans and their families.


As a Community Engagement Coordinator, you will work collaboratively with clients and internal and external stakeholders to enhance Open Arm’s ability to identify and respond to the needs of vulnerable and at risk veterans, current and former Defence Force members and/or their families. Duties include:

  • Intake assessment and referral, complex case management and case coordination to clients with identified complex and/or multiple needs
  • Participate in community development and service promotion activities
  • Maintain clinical records, collate and analyse data and prepare reports to assist in evaluating and improving service delivery
  • Liaise with other government agencies and community organisations
  • Work within collaborative recovery and stepped care models


  • Qualified Psychologists, Occupational Therapists and Nurses must have current AHPRA registration
  • AASW registered Social Workers eligible to apply for Mental Health accreditation
  • Must have or be able to attain a Working with Children Check or Vulnerable Peoples Check
  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience
  • Australian citizen (federal government requirement)


  • $60 to $65 p/h + 10% superannuation, paid weekly
  • Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm (37.5 hours / week)
