Consultant Obs and Gynae

The Role:
An opportunity exists for a dedicated Obs and Gynae Consultant to join a friendly and supportive team.

You will be working within a progressive unit providing care to women through both Inpatient and Outpatient Services and part of the team that delivers approximately 1600 newborn babies each year. Your work will be fast-paced and very rewarding.

You will be expected to –
· Provide the highest possible standard of specialist obstetrics and gynaecology care, consultancy and advice to clients and families.
· Provision of teaching for undergraduate and postgraduate students, general practitioners, and primary and specialist health professionals.
· Work collaboratively with primary health service providers and specialist health service providers across the range of settings for effective continuity of care.

Women's and Children's Services consists of a 6 bed Labour Ward, 27 bed Maternity Unit, 9 bed Level 2 Special Care Nursery that admits neonates >= 30 weeks gestation, 28 Bed Paediatric Unit (including adolescent area) and access to medical/surgical beds for Gynaecology patients.

Skills & Qualifications required:
* Appropriate experience and knowledge to practice as a Staff Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
* Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Demonstrated ability to lead and work within a multidisciplinary team environment.
* Demonstrated commitment to teaching and research.
