Consultant Psychiatrists - Regional Eating Disorders Service (Full Time)

Tupu Ora is a regional specialist service providing assessment and treatment for, children, adolescents and adults with eating disorders.   Tupu Ora is a treatment continuum including outpatient, intensive day programme, a residential facility and consultation and liaison to other services. 

As a Psychiatrist for our children and young people, you will work collaboratively with our multi disciplinary team including existing medical staff to provide specialist psychiatric assessment and treatment. The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong commitment to ensuring a safe and effective clinical service. 

Tupu Ora is committed to delivering evidenced based practice, so a familiarity with evidenced based treatments for young people with Anorexia Nervosa would be an advantage.

We can offer an opportunity to either develop specialist expertise and/or build on existing skills. There are good opportunities for professional development and clinical supervision.

This is a full time position working Monday to Friday based predominately at the Greenlane Clinical Centre. Tupu Ora is a supra-regional service providing specialist support to a number of district health boards so the role may include some travel.

You will already have (or be eligible for) specialist registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (  RANZCP fellowship is essential and experience working with people with eating disorders is highly desirable.  Basic computer skills and a clean full driver's licence are required. 

As the ideal candidate, you will be either registered or be eligible for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. Please note, you will be required to provide source verification of your qualifications for your registration application.
