The Role:
We are looking for dedicated Consultant/Specialists Obstetrics and Gynaecology - to provide high quality evidence based and patient focused clinical services.

Total remuneration package: up to $370,000

DEPARTMENT:
  • Busy birthing suite (approx. 650 deliveries p.a.) and outpatient clinics (including ANC, Gynaecology, High Risk Obstetrics and Colposcopy)
  • Surgical services including minimally invasive, open and laparoscopic surgery
  • JMO support (Accredited Registrar +/- Rural Generalists, SRMO and RMO)
  • Links to a well-established Department of Paediatrics with Special Care Nursery
  • Close relationship with the University of Newcastle Department of Rural Health with teaching students in Year 3 5 of the Joint Medical Program. Appointment as a Conjoint Academic is encouraged (level commensurate with qualifications and experience)

Skills & Qualifications required:
  1. A primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA and Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, and/or overseas trained specialist pathways.
  2. Evidence of being a medical expert, demonstrated by recent and comprehensive experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
  3. Evidence of being a scholar, maintains medical professional development and has the ability to assist other staff, including trainees in the acquisition and development of knowledge.
  4. Evidence of being a skilled communicator, including both oral and written skills, communicating with patients, students, other health professionals and the public.
