Director of Medical Services - DMS

The role:
We are looking for a Leader to take on the Director of Medical Services role, to provide leadership and support over the provision medical services. Receiving job security and highly supportive benefits in this permanent full time position.

Responsibilities will include –
Operationally manage effective, efficient and safe medical services
Actively promote and participate in clinical service developments including contemporary models of care.
Provide medical professional advice and oversight to the Rural facilities.
Provide advice to the Executive Director through the Gladstone & Banana Senior Leadership

Hospital:
This is a 70bed hospital and caters to a regional population of approximately 65,000 incorporating smaller rural/coastal settlements within its catchment area. The hospital provides a range of services including general medicine, emergency medicine and surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, high dependency and coronary care, medical imaging, palliative care, pathology and mental health services. In addition, there are additional services delivered via outreach/community-based facilities.

Location:
A sub-tropical climate and its proximity to islands, waterways and beaches provides year-round boating, fishing, swimming and surfing. The climate and oceanic setting also yield’s delicious seafood including the famous crab. The City has its own unique appearance with a gorgeous harbour, the environment is so clean and green.

Education facilities including 13 public and private schools (preparatory year followed by year 1 to year 12), special education, Central Queensland Institute of TAFE and Central Queensland University.

Mandatory qualifications / Professional registration / Other requirements

• Specialist registration with Medical Board of Australia.

Possession or progression towards a FRACMA or other management qualification would be highly regarded.

What you will receive:
Package up to $474,798 (L27); or up to $436,821

Professional Development Leave 3.6 weeks p.a.
Professional Development Allowance ($20,000 p.a.)

Clinical Managers Allowance / Medical Managers Allowance (depending on qualifications)
