Disability Support Worker - Avondale Height and Surrounding

About the Role:
A mature aged male NDIS client with a primary diagnosis of ABI and dependency issues is looking for a support worker that is experienced working with a participant with complex behaviours who needs 24 hour supervision, care, and guidance.

We are looking for a person that is committed and compassionate about making a real difference in his life. Someone who knows how to provide a safe and supportive environment, and has knowledge of the NDIS, including PBSP (Positive Behaviour Support Plan) and how to make participant goals come to life.

The male client has a preference for a male support worker to complete his shifts as personal care is involved.

· NDIS client in North West Melbourne with 24 hour ongoing care.
· Majority of shifts are 0800-1400, 1600-2200 and sleep over shifts from 2200-0800 Mon – Sunday.
· All services are personal care, social support, respite, transport assistance, companionship, domestic assistance, meals assistance, medication administration via Webster pack.
· All shifts are active shifts
· Can roster up to 38 hours immediately

Role Requirements:
· Ability to manage and appropriately respond to challenging situations, whilst providing exceptional personal centred supports.
· Experience in encouraging positive and socially appropriate behaviour, and effectively manage challenging behaviour
· Previous experience or and understanding working within a or understanding of ABI and dependency issues would be highly regarded for this role.
Applicant Requirements:
· NDIS Screening Check – Approved applicants apply only
· COVID19 vaccinated
· Accredited training i.e. a Certificate III in Home and Community Care, Aged Care, Individual Support or Certificate IV in Disability
· Availability to cover a range of shifts across the week including mornings, evenings and weekends
· A minimum of 6 months experience working in Community Care, Aged Care or Disability Sector
· A current Driver’s Licence, registered vehicle, reliable car and full comprehensive insurance
· A National Police History Check and/or Overseas Police Check (if applicable)
· A current First Aid and CPR Certificate
· Working with Children Check will also be required
· Willingness to complete professional development certificates
