Drug Case Coordinator

About the role
This is a key position which forms part of the Acacia Prison Drug Strategy.  Working within the Care and Wellbeing Team, you will be responsible for the effective operation and implementation of the Strategy in order to reduce the supply of, and demand for, illicit substances within the Prison using a variety of responsible detection, prevention, identification, assessment, treatment, support and rehabilitation methods.
To be successful in this position, you will have:
  • The highest levels of integrity and ethical behaviour
  • Demonstrated experience in the field of addiction and case management roles
  • Extensive experience relating to addiction and empirical research relating to effective intervention and rehabilitation
  • High Level of Written and Verbal communication skills to support documentation development including completion of defendable file notes relating to case management, preparation of reports and submissions
  • Ability to identify services and support needed for the prisoner to meet identified goals, including making any relevant referrals or assisting in gaining access to the required services
  • Strong Stakeholder Management skills
  • Ability to effectively plan strategies aimed at addressing the needs of the prisoner
  • Tertiary Qualifications in an area relevant to the Drug & Alcohol field + experience within a correctional, welfare or other institutional setting would be highly desirable
