General Practitioner - Remote WA based

Ngaanyatjarra Health Service

  • Attractive gross remuneration $280,000 - $350,000 per annum, dependant on experience.
  • Plus, PBI Salary Packaging (valued up to $15,900).

Ngaanyatjarra Health Service (NHS) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled health service providing care to Indigenous people living in communities across the vast Ngaanyatjarra Lands in remote Western Australia, near the Northern Territory/South Australian boarders.
NHS is currently seeking a skilled, experienced and committed professional to fill the important position of General Practitioner. This position is based on Ngaanyatjarra Lands, WA.

The NHS General Practitioner is an integral member of the multi-disciplinary primary health care team.  You will be working in a supportive work environment with Remote Are Nurses and Health Workers.

Selection Criteria

  • Qualified as a medical practitioner.
  • Current registration and/or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Experience in primary health care.
  • Demonstrated high level of communication and inter-personal skills.
  • Commitment to working within team care processes to contribute to the health and wellbeing of Indigenous Australians. 
  • Fellowship of either the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) or The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) is highly desirable.
  • Ideally the candidate would be a Rural Generalist with successful completion of advanced skills training in obstetrics, emergency or other relevant area.
  • Experience working in a remote Indigenous health program in Australia.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain practice that is culturally safe for Indigenous Australians.
