Grade 2 Community Social Worker: Hamilton


  • 12-month contract with the potential to go permanent
  • Full-time with monthly RDO
  • Weekly salary as per EBA  with additional Salary Packaging

  • CPD opportunities grant of $3000 per year available through RWAV

This position is based within the counselling team providing counselling sessions and support to inpatients, outpatients and community-based clients about issues associated with illness, adjustment, making difficult decisions, grief and loss, crisis intervention, disability and hospital care.

Be a part of a high functioning team and also offer mentorship and supervision to the counselling staff members. Developing EAP training, well-being education programs as well as contributing to the development of NDIS contracts.

Essential Criteria:
  • Current social worker registration with the (AASW) Australia Association of Social work.
  • An experienced community social worker able to work independently in rural outreach, and as a part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated comprehensive skills in counselling, assessment, community liaison and consultation, implementation care plans using evidence-based timely interventions, and treatment.
  • Demonstrated strong levels of ethics, confidentiality and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated innovation and motivation in the delivery a comprehensive and responsive Employee Assistance Program and new streams of business.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to successfully prioritise workload
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development and continuous improvement
The successful applicant will hold, or be able to obtain, a Victorian Criminal Police Check, Victorian employee Working with Children Check and be willing to undertake a Disability Worker Exclusion Scheme check.  Current immunisation records are also required.
