Grade 2 Registered Nurse - Anaesthetics/Recovery

About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated Grade 2 Registered Nurse with Anaesthetic/PACU experience, who is seeking a challenging and rewarding opportunity to become part of our dynamic team. Under the guidance of the Nurse Unit Manager or Associate Nurse Unit Manager, the Grade 2 Registered Nurse will be responsible for the delivery of expert clinical care.

We will provide you with excellent educational opportunities across a broad range of specialities including Cardiothoracic, Vascular, Neurosurgery, ENT, Plastics, General, Urology and Orthopaedics.

  • Ability to work efficiently as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrate ‘best practice’ clinical skills within the Perioperative environment
  • Act as a clinical role model by providing the highest standard of direct patient care
  • Demonstrate sound clinical knowledge in the area of Perioperative Nursing (Perianaesthesia stream)
  • Accurately document patient care in accordance with hospital guidelines
  • Assists in the achievement of ward / unit key performance indicators.

Classifications for this position will range from YP3 - YP11 ( $67,236 - $89,902 per annum ) pro rata.

Your Contribution

  • Completed Bachelor of Nursing Degree with a current Nursing Registration with AHPRA
  • Minimum 12 months current experience in perioperative nursing and a good understanding of the current standards of practice
  • Postgraduate Diploma or Certificate in Perioperative Nursing (Perianaesthesia stream) is desirable
  • Motivated, professional & exhibiting exceptional communication and time management skills
  • Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain

About the Department
St Vincent's Operating Suite currently houses 12 theatres, 12 anaesthetic rooms and a Post Anaesthetic Care Area. Working alongside the Sterile Processing Centre, Day Procedures and Endoscopy Centres. The department undertakes over 9,000 procedures per year in a vast range of highly specialised and complex specialities over a 24 hour period, 7 days per week. We also offer a mentoring program, which provides a comprehensive orientation to the department and aims at achieving ongoing professional development. We offer a supportive multidisciplinary environment with a strong education focus.
