About the Opportunity

Kimberley Pharmacy Services now has an exciting opportunity for recently graduated Pharmacists to join their supportive and experienced team as part of their structured 2 Year Residency Program, on a full-time basis. You can choose to start between January–March, or later in 2022. For the first six months of the program, you will be based out of Broome and will be part of a rotational graduate experience at several pharmacies (community, clinical and outreach Aboriginal Health Services) throughout the region.

Reporting to the Pharmacy Manager and other Senior Pharmacists, your key responsibility will be to assist in the running of Kimberley Pharmacy Services community, clinical and outreach services with a focus on patient education, access to medicines, clinical reviews and culturally-appropriate medication management services.

After your initial six months, time will be spent working in our community pharmacies in Broome, Derby and Fitzroy Crossing where patient interaction and education is our top priority. A KPS pharmacist's role in outreach to Aboriginal Health Services is many and varied. While continuing our mission to provide medication information and education to patients we also play a part in maintaining clinic imprests, offering support and education to staff and working collaboratively with a variety of health professionals to ensure patients health outcomes are optimised.

About You

To be successful, you will be a qualified Pharmacist currently registered, or in the process of completing your registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency (AHPRA). Although not a requirement, community pharmacy experience will be highly regarded.

Kimberley Pharmacy Services is looking for individuals who are flexible and adaptable, and who have a real interest in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health. You will be an empathetic individual who can work with multi-cultural team members and patients.

You will also have strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as effective time management skills. Moreover, you will need to demonstrate a commitment to patient education and be willing to actively engage with patients/customers to deliver it respectfully.

Please Note: To be considered for this position, you must have an Australian Drivers Licence.
