Health Information Manager– Communicare Administrator

Miwatj Health is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation delivering primary health care services at the East Arnhem Region of the Northern Territory. We are currently looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and reliable person to fill a position to complement much needed services aimed at improving the health of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander.
 
Health Information Manager – Communicare Administrator

 
This position works closely with the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Coordinator, and is responsible for undertaking regular administrator tasks, data entry, auditing, monitoring and reporting on the use of the patient information system (Communicare). This position is also responsible for designing, organising and delivering training and orientation on the use of Communicare to staff, as well as ongoing usage audits. The health information manager will provide support to the Chief Health Officer and management team on data integrity and data management. The position is based in Nhulunbuy, other locations/remote work negotiable.

This role will involve, but certainly is not limited to:
  • Perform the lead administrator function for Communicare, including overseeing data integrity, conducting regular audits, monitoring, reporting, and cleansing of the database(s)
  • Play a proactive role in identifying potential needs and solutions for data management and Communicare administration
  • Work with the Clinical Governance Committee in the optimisation of the Communicare database to clinical and safety needs
  • Conduct staff training on Communicare use. Including initial induction, individual use monitoring and further retraining if needed
The ideal candidate would have at least three years experience administrating a Communicare database, ability to travel to remote areas by light aircraft or 4WD vehicle, for periods of one day to up to a week at a time with the ability to provide effective oral health services in an isolated environment.
