Cairns Regional Domestic Violence Service Inc. (CRDVS) aims to use its specialist knowledge and skills to prevent domestic and family violence in the community and to empower those affected by it.

About the Opportunity

Cairns Regional Domestic Violence Service Inc. (CRDVS) now has a rewarding opportunity for a full-time Case Manager to lead their High Risk Team co-located at the Department of Child Safety, Youth and Women (DCSYW), Cairns office.

A secondary responsibility of this position is the provision of interagency co-operation to work towards a concerted approach for the elimination of domestic and family violence within the region.

Working under the general direction and supervision of the CEO, your day-to-day responsibilities may include (but will not be limited to):

  • Leading the coordination and administration of the High Risk Team meetings;
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with relevant agencies and promoting the work of the High Risk Team (HRT) (including Police, Housing, QLD Health and Youth Justice);
  • Providing specialist DFV advice in the multi-disciplinary HRT;
  • Communicating the actions of all HRT representatives to relevant agencies and receiving regular updates from all HRT representatives between HRT meetings to facilitate implementation of client safety plans;
  • Maintaining clear communication across the broader CRDVS staff team in relation to the HRT; and
  • Sharing information in accordance with the information sharing guidelines and legislation relating to high risk cases with prescribed entities, other specialist DFV services and support services where appropriate.

Due to the nature of the role, it is crucial that the successful candidate is a specialist in domestic and family violence and/or sexual assault, ideally with some of this experience gained working within a DV service.
