The Role
We are seeking dedicated Medical Registrars to join a regional hospital in a beautiful regional coastal location.

The successful candidates will be responsible for the clinical care of patients under the supervision of senior medical staff including: attending to patients in order of medical urgency; taking history of full medical examinations of new admissions and arranging appropriate investigations and assisting/performing medical procedures as required; managing medical conditions according to high level clinical standards under supervision of consultants; collaborating with other Medical, Nursing staff and multidisciplinary team members to facilitate patient management and communication with family, medical practitioners, and/or community services concerning patient management.

The successful applicant will also be required to work with consultants in the efficient and best practice patient care, timely discharge summaries and efficient discharge planning. The unit has 41 beds and will expose you to a very wide range of medical presentations. The Hospital is accredited for Basic Training with RACP, is seeking Advanced Training accreditation and has an active education program.

$131,853 - $176,734 p.a. pro rata (inclusive of base salary, 10% superannuation and applicable allowances)

Hospital:
This 171 bed Hospital has undergone an upgrade which includes the first ICU outside of the Metropolitan area, a comprehensive cancer care centre and an extended ED.

It’s an exciting time to be joining the Hospital with a $200 million transformation about to take place.

The opportunity to get involved at the ground level of the transformation is unique, with a bottom-up approach in system re-design informing the development of new infrastructure, such as a re-furbished emergency department, critical care services, theatre complex and general ward areas, along with new medical and surgical assessment units, and outpatient areas.

The hospital has a busy 24-hr emergency department, intensive care unit, general medical and surgical wards, paediatric ward, obstetric service, comprehensive general medical and geriatric service, acute psychiatric unit, theatre complex and outpatient areas.

This is a beautiful seaside city located only a couple of hour’s drive from Perth, the city enjoys unequalled services including medical services, quality schooling, well priced housing, and access to many of the best wineries, surf, and scenic destinations in the state.
Situated in the picturesque south-west corner of Australia, the region is known for its extensive natural beauty and enviable climate.

Skills/Quals:
1.Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
2. Demonstrated clinical and procedural experience.
3. Ability to provide teaching, supervision and training support.
4. Demonstrated well developed communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
6. Demonstrated organisational and time management skills.
7. Demonstrated commitment to clinical governance within health care

The successful applicants will have a minimum of 6 months experience in General Medicine from Australia or a comparable country.

Candidates must be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
