Medical Registrar/PHO - Internal Medicine

The Role:
We are looking for suitably experienced General Medicine Registrars/PHO’s to join a dedicated team.

Clinical Functions

  • Under the direction of Senior Medical Staff:
    * Manage patients to ensure that problems are fully assessed and identified.
    * Plan comprehensive clinical care and management.
    * Supervise the appropriate election and arrangement of investigations.
    * Maintain appropriate comprehensive and concise clinical documentation, including: observations, opinions, diagnoses, other data and procedures undertaken.
    * Maintain appropriate summary documentation, particularly when the patient is transferred, including discharge summaries and letters.
    * In consultation with senior medical staff, ensure that patient flow is optimised and compliance targets
    (NEAT) are met.
    * Ensure and review the quality of patient care by participation in clinical audits and quality programs.
    * Execute any other clinical duties relevant to the position as required, e.g. Attend the medical MDT Huddle meeting.
    Total remuneration value of up to $139,130 p.a. is comprised of;
  • A salary between $113,481 -131,571 p.a.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading


Hospital:
This is an 83 bed hospital and caters to a regional population of approximately 65,000 incorporating smaller rural/coastal settlements within its catchment area. The hospital provides a range of services including general medicine, emergency medicine and surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, high dependency and coronary care, medical imaging, palliative care, pathology and mental health services. In addition, there are additional services delivered via outreach/community-based facilities.

Location:
A sub-tropical climate and its proximity to islands, waterways and beaches provides year-round boating, fishing, swimming, and surfing. The climate and oceanic setting also yield’s delicious seafood including the famous crab. The city has its own unique appearance with a gorgeous harbour, the environment is so clean and green.

You will be spoiled by the many natural attractions including islands, beaches and waterways offering an appealing lifestyle.

Education facilities including 13 public and private schools (preparatory year followed by year 1 to year 12), special education, Central Queensland Institute of TAFE and Central Queensland University.

Mandatory qualifications:
* Current AHPRA registration.
* Minimum 2 years of experience working in Australia.
