Remuneration value up to $244,874 p.a. comprising salary between $175,067 p.a. - $179,703 p.a. (MSR2-1 to MSR2-2) or remuneration value up to $234,161 p.a. comprising salary between $155,589 p.a. - $170,201 p.a. (MSR1-1 to MSR1-4); employer superannuation contribution (up to 12.75%), annual leave loading (17.5%), attraction and retention incentive allowance, professional development allowance, professional development leave 3.6 weeks p.a., professional indemnity cover, plus overtime and on-call allowances. Duties/Abilities
  • Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with the Queensland Public Service and the Mackay HHS Values as outlined above and here.
  • Follow defined service quality standards, occupational health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
  • The provision of a Healthy and Safe environment within Mackay Hospital and Health Service is everyone’s responsibility.
  • Understand your accountability to uphold the principles and practices of the Health Service’s Health and Safety Management System in accordance with legislation and industry standards.  As a supervisor actively promote good health and safety practices to staff of your work area.
  • To provide clinical services in accordance with Mackay Hospital and Health Services objectives, to clients of the Clermont MPHS in accordance with the relevant award and at all times subject to clinical privileges granted according to Queensland Health policy including maintenance of appropriate records and confidentiality.
  • To ensure a high quality of clinical practice at the Clermont MPHS through participation in the development and maintenance of Quality enhancement and improvement strategies including participation in peer review, clinical audits, the use of standard treatment protocols and guidelines, and electronic information systems.
  • Evidence-based best practice will be adhered to using tools such as Primary Clinical Care Manual and Chronic Disease Management Guidelines as they are developed and approved by Queensland Health.
  • Coordination of public health initiatives with a population focus in areas, such as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and South Sea Islanders health, sexual health, health promotion and alcohol and drug prevention.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team within the MPHS to ensure provision of efficient, effective service delivery and patient safety.
  • Work collaboratively with residents, families, carers and other service providers to negotiate and achieve optimal client outcomes.
  • Provide ethical decision making in the achievement of organisational goals.
  • Maintain good communications with all areas and disciplines within the Mackay Hospital and Health Service and with other medical practitioners and health professionals to ensure smooth and effective operation of the Health Service.
  • The investigation and preparation of reports and other documentation including those concerned with complaints by patients and other relevant practices.
  • Ensure comprehensive, accurate and concise medical records are maintained for all patients for whom responsible.
  • Participate in educational activities for all levels of staff within the hospital and in accordance to ensure you maintain the appropriate skills and qualifications.
  • Attend meetings with staff to ensure planning policy matters at the hospital are supported by Medical staff.
  • Participate in the Queensland Health’s “Performance Professional Development” process.
  • Participate in quality assurance and accreditation programs.
