This is a rare opportunity to work in a diverse role for this predominantly agricultural and forestry rural community. From supporting the GPs in the medical centre to providing first response to emergencies. This role encompasses all emergency, district and community nursing as well as palliative care. Undertaking minor procedural work, dealing with chronic disease and disabilities to community visits. There is also the opportunity to engage in health promotion work – running info sessions, writing articles for local radio and immersing yourself in the community as well as continuous improvement and accreditation work.

You will be extremely well supported in this role by a dedicated close knit team of clinical, medical and administrative staff who work together as a team to improve healthcare for their local community. The role will demand excellent communication and time management skills,as well as solid experience in a rural or remote setting with emergency and district nursing skills. You will be required to use your initiative, develop and utilise your problem solving skills and have the ability to liaise and build rapport within the local community whilst providing client centred care.

Essential Key requirements:

• Bachelor of Nursing with current AHPRA registration
• At least 3 years post graduate experience in remote or rural setting
• Emergency experience
• Advanced assessment skills
• Current driver’s license
• Excellent communication skills
• Advanced decision making skills
• Excellent computer skills 
• Preparedness to undertake Remote Area Nursing Emergency Guidelines endorsement 

 Desirable:

• Community nursing experience
• Practice nursing experience
• Immunisation Endorsement
• Health promotion and population health experience
• Knowledge and experience of the NSQHS
