About the Department
Riverside House residential aged care facility caters to 30 Aged Persons’ Mental Health (APMH) beds designed to deliver contemporary best practice person centred care. Riverside House compliments a suite of existing St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne’s residential facilities: Auburn House (also with 30 APMH beds); Cambridge House (30 bed generalist facility); Prague House (45 bed facility for people with a history of homelessness) and new addition, Berengarra, home to 60 generalist and 30 APMH beds.
About the Role
The Nurse Unit Manager role will ensure efficient, safe and effective operations seamlessly integrated with the delivery and coordination of a model of care that is resident-centric, individually tailored and enhancing to the quality of life for the older person.
The Nurse Unit Manager will oversee and engage timely reporting and compliance with all local, state-wide and national affiliates, bodies and agencies, where relevant to the governance of aged care. They will be accountable for the financial, clinical and operational management of the facility. They will demonstrate adaptability and flexibility and engage with a multi-disciplinary team, internal and external stakeholders to meet the changing operational needs of the business as well as a keen application of innovation and improvement methodology.
The Nurse Unit Manager will have operational oversight of all clinical and non-clinical systems and equipment; will demonstrate clinical and professional leadership and mentoring through effective consultation and collaborative relationships.
Classification for this role will be NP51 ($114,400 per annum).
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
- Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia
- Previous experience in a senior management position, desirable residential aged care service experience
- Post-graduate qualifications in aged care and/or Mental Health
- Comprehensive understanding of professional nursing practice, legislative and regulatory frameworks and Enterprise Agreements
