Nurse Unit Manager

Genesis Care has an exciting role for a Nurse Unit Manager to lead the nursing team within our St Vincent's, Darlinghurst clinic.

What you’ll do:

The successful applicant will be responsible for managing the nursing team to meet the needs of Genesis Care's strategy, vision and values. This is achieved by providing advanced nursing knowledge and skills, leadership to ensure a positive engaged workforce and resource management to ensure all aspects of legislation are addressed.

The Nurse Unit Manager will have an excellent understanding of current trends, research and policies in oncology nursing. You'll work with the Centre Leader, Quality Manager and Director of Nursing to ensure evidence-based, best practice guidelines are applied.

As a skilled communicator the Nurse Unit Manager will maintain open and effective communication with the nursing, medical, pharmacy, clinical trials and management team alongside all other allied health and craft groups within the business.

Who you are:

  • Registration as a Nurse with AHPRA.
  • Clinical experience as a nurse – 5 years nursing with at least 1 year Medical oncology preferred.
  • Has completed post graduate study or working towards this
  • Demonstrated clinical knowledge and the ability to apply relevant legislation, guidelines and standards
  • Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to demonstrate empathy for patients and their carer’s.
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to the application of quality improvement and best practice principles, including the NSQHS.
  • Strong commitment to quality patient care
  • Registered Nurse's or CNS/CNC who have stepped up as an interim NUM to lead teams are also encouraged to apply
