Nurses, do what you love, love where you do it

Queensland Health

Do what you love, love where you do it.

Queensland Health is recruiting nurses with at least two years’ experience to join our regional and rural health services.

We have opportunities in Registered Nurse, Clinical Nurse and Clinical Nurse Consultant roles through to Nurse Practitioner and Nurse Unit Manager level with our Hospital and Health Services located in:
-    Central Queensland
-    Torres and Cape
-    Darling Downs
-    Mackay
-    North West
-    Wide Bay

There are many advantages to living and working in regional locations; you won’t be stuck in traffic for 40 mins on the morning commute, and you will make genuine connections with the local community.

Positions are located in a mix of large hospitals based in regional centres, smaller regional facilities and primary health care centres for the following specialties:
-    rural generalists
-    primary health care
-    mental health
-    emergency
-    perioperative
-    general medical, surgical or sub-acute.

This experience will be potentially a different one for you. It will of course have its ups and downs, however feedback from nurses who work in our rural and regional services say it is highly rewarding and an excellent way to develop your career.

We can offer you:
-    top remuneration packages matched to your experience
-    supportive workplaces to build your career
-    free onsite parking at most workplaces
-    remote area nursing incentive packages for eligible roles
-    generous leave loading and shift work penalty rates
-    up to 12.75 per cent employer superannuation contribution.

For our rural primary health care roles, holding RIPRN, ALS or PALS certification would be advantageous.

In some of our more remote communities, like Thursday Island, experience caring for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, whilst not mandatory would be an advantage.
