Obstetrics & Gynaecology Consultant

  • Salary $467,627 - $739,185 p.a (pro rata) - Ongoing Part Time (more than 1 position available) - MD2 
In a role which allows you a high level of autonomy and support within a dynamic work environment, you will undertake clinical and consultancy duties in Obstetrics and Gynaecology as directed by the Executive Director Medical Services, Riverland Mallee Coorong Local Health Network, Riverland General Hospital. 

You will assist with the supervision of the clinical practice of, and to teach Obstetrics and Gynaecology to the Registrar, Salaried Medical Officers, Interns and Medical Students as required.  You will work as an Obstetrician & Gynaecologist to ensure that patients are managed using evidence based best practice, working in collaboration with other health professionals with direct report to the Clinical Director O&G Department.

You will hold a fellowship of the RANZCOG (or equivalent), eligible for registration as a Specialist with the Medical Board of South Australia.

You will have significant relevant experience in obstetrics and gynaecology (typically five years) including caesarean sections and normal vaginal delivery.  You will have well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrated commitment to providing a quality service to the patient; proven skills in investigation, negotiation, mediation and resolution of complaints. You will work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, with demonstrated experience in a public hospital setting. Previous experience in teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels will be considered favourably, and you will bring sound knowledge of contemporary practice, issues and research in relation to obstetrics. 
This is a more than 1 position available .25 fte part time vacancy, hours of work to be negotiated and salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked.

Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Screening/Check and specific immunisation requirements.
