Occupational Therapist - Foster

This small rural health service has a mission to deliver quality services and ensure affordable access to healthcare for the community of Foster, Corner Inlet, and surrounding areas including Wilsons Promontory.

Opportunity for a passionate Grade 1 or 2 Occupational Therapist to work in a sole role but alongside a multidisciplinary Allied health team. Lots of diversity working across various funding streams providing care to mainly community patients over 65 years, paediatrics and also providing support to patients of all ages in the Acute hospital ward.

You will need to adapt to diverse range of tasks as well as participate in health promotion activity, networking and collaborative opportunities in conjunction with local facilities as required.

The Allied Health Team is an innovative , friendly and supportive team due to each clinician being a sole practitioner. The role allows a high level of autonomy and innovation, and support through a regional supervisor.

Essential Key Selection Criteria:
  • Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (OT) practice (minimum)
  • Experience in acute, sub-acute and/ or community care (desirable)
  • Experience supporting paediatric clients (desirable)
  • Current Victorian Driver’s Licence
  • Demonstrated OT clinical skills relevant to grade.
  • Ability to undertake OT clinical and risk assessment, set priorities and work in a timely and efficient way according to various program requirements.
  • Ability to provide high quality coordinated OT services in association with other clinicians, the client and family/carers.
  • Well-developed care planning and case management skills, including the ability to formulate goal based care plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain statistics/data on all patient contact and clinical support activity as required.
  • Demonstrated skills to establish sound, collaborative working relationships with internal staff, external clinicians, clients and their family/carers and other stakeholders

Foster also has the South Gippsland Rail Trail running through it, which has over 70 km’s of trail linking to  beautiful towns nearby.
