Occupational Therapist Grade 1 - Lakes Entrance

An opportunity exists for an experienced or recent graduate Occupational Therapist to join a multi-disciplinary community health centre, located in the beautiful coastal town of Lakes Entrance.

Perfect role to gain experience in different service units such as Aged and Disability Services; Clinical and Nursing Services; Allied Health Services; Corporate Services; and Family Youth & Children's Services. You will be a part of the Community Health Services unit and  also work in three rotations including hand therapy, paediatrics and community occupational therapy.

All the services will be delivered in both private and public models and are funded from a range of sources including Medicare, NDIS and care management.The role is primarily based in Lakes Entrance but may be required to work at other practice sites. Services may be delivered to individuals and in group settings, and may be on site, in client’s homes, or in education facilities.

The practice will also ask you to do a Disability Worker Exclusion Scheme safety check along with other mandatory checks. Supportive team environment, clinical and professional supervision will be offered to the right candidate.

Essential Criteria:
  • Bachelor of Applied Science in Occupational Therapy and full registration with AHPRA.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience of current occupational therapy practices and outcomes.
  • Experience in group development and facilitation.
  • Proven ability to liaise with a variety of internal and external service providers, professionals and clients.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Demonstrated skills in time and workload management.
  • Be a SWEP registered practitioner, or be willing to undertake the required training.
  • Current Victorian Driver’s License, Police Check and Working with Children’s Check

This Community Health organisation is a high profile service provider which offers a range of health and community services to the East Gipplsland area. With service sites in Lakes Entrance, Bairnsdale, Bruthen, Metung and Nowa Nowa, services offered are divided into five units with a strong multi-disciplinary approach; Aged and Disability, Clinical and Nursing, Allied Health, Corporate, and Family Youth & Children’s Services.
