Occupational Therapist Grade 1 - Yarram

Fully integrated rural public service is seeking a qualified Grade One Occupational Therapist to join their team of clinicians on a 12-month fixed term contract basis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing safe, appropriate and quality occupational therapy services to the clients. They will ensure a high quality of patient care and service standards are delivered. As a part of the role, you will identify, assess, implement and review Occupational Therapy programs and encourage appropriate referrals by educating staff and community members.

You will experience working with a diverse caseload, and have the opportunity to develop and expand skills across all ages and areas within the discipline, with generous professional development opportunities available. Your workload will consist of treating adult and paediatric outpatients, early intervention programs, acute inpatients, inpatient rehabilitation, residential care and health promotion.

Key Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Occupational Therapy or equivalent and full registration with AHPRA
  • Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience of current occupational therapy practices and outcomes
  • Experience in group development and facilitation is desirable
  • Proven ability to liaise with a variety of internal and external service providers, professionals and clients
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Demonstrated skills in time and workload management
  • Be a SWEP registered practitioner, or be willing to undertake the required training
  • Interest or demonstrated knowledge in one or more of the following clinical areas of practice: Paediatrics, Acute Inpatients, Hand Therapy and Community
  • Current Victorian Driver’s License, Police Check and Working with Children’sCheck
Other relevant information:
  • The successful applicant will be required to provide an original police record check no older than three years
  • The successful applicant will be required to provide evidence of a current Working with Children check
  • The successful applicant will be required to provide evidence of current AHPRA registration
  • The successful applicant will be required to complete a pre-existing injury declaration form prior to commencement

Practice Details:
The organisation provides acute, subacute, residential care and an extensive range of community-based services to a catchment population of 6,500. The organisation operates under the Department of Health and Human Services Small Rural Health Service program, provides a comprehensive range of primary care services, and has recently begun providing NDIS services with the opportunity to expand services
