Urgently seeking a motivated and professional Occupational Therapist to work alongside an integrated and multi-disciplinary community care team for maternity leave contract. The practice offers Montessori model approach to residential care and has several services including 5 acute beds and a 45 residential care beds.

You will be treating adults and 8% aboriginal clients aiming to achieve them an optimal quality of life and delivering services across the local and outreach communities. There will be an opportunities for you to conduct community group programs such as falls prevention and create programs/initiatives within the team, based on person centered approach,funding steam and EBP.

Essential Criteria:
  • Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) or equivalent
  • Registration with AHPRA
  • Must be able to obtain Medicare provider number
  • Demonstrated ability to provide a combination of generalist and specialist Occupational Therapy services within a variety of community settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and quality improvement in a specialist area of Occupational Therapy service.
  • General awareness and understanding of the public health system, funding streams and wider influences on clinical service provision.
  • Specific awareness of the public health system, funding streams and wider influences on clinical service provision as they relate to the delivery of paediatric and  HACC funded community services.
  • Highly developed organisation, planning and problem solving skills.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills incorporating excellent communication and leadership, including negotiation and conflict resolution.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team
  • Current Victorian Driver’s License, Police Check and Working with Children’s Check
  • Experience in working in a rural community setting.
  • Experience working in paediatric assessment and treatment services.
  • Experience working with Helping Children with Autism and Better Start for Children with Disability funded OT services
  • Experience working in an inpatient and/or outpatient rehabilitation and / or neurological setting.
