Occupational Therapist - Heywood

Urgently seeking a motivated and professional Occupational Therapist to work alongside an integrated and multi-disciplinary community care team for maternity leave contract. The practice offers Montessori model approach to residential care and has several services including 5 acute beds and a 45 residential care beds.

You will be treating adults and 8% aboriginal clients aiming to achieve them an optimal quality of life and delivering services across the local and outreach communities. There will be an opportunities for you to conduct community group programs such as falls prevention and create programs/initiatives within the team, based on person centered approach,funding steam and EBP.

Both internal and external CPD will be available to you along with an access to new graduate Allied health and south west regional support program.To be considered for this role you will need the following;

Essential Criteria:
  • Experience working within a community health care setting and/ or residential aged care setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to work professionally, both independently and collaboratively within a team environment, to achieve desired outcomes.
  • A commitment to provide professional Occupational Therapy services that are person and family centred, incorporating evidenced based and conceptual models of practice to guide interventions.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and create opportunities to enhance care through investigative literature research, with a focus on continuous quality improvement.
  •  Proficient time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve statistical targets within an allocated timeframe, and maintain accurate medical records.
  • Post graduate qualification in Occupational Therapy
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency AHPRA
  • Current Police Record Check and Working with children check
  • Current Victorian drivers licence
This is a small rural hospital community health centre that provides urgent care, acute and residential aged care and a range of primary care and allied care services to the local farming Community of Heywood and surrounding towns.

They pride themselves on providing a warm and friendly environment that is closely connected to local community and the people who live there. Primary Health and Medical Services on are also site and staffed with Registered Nurses 24/7.
