Occupational Therapist - Portland

Opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join a multi-disciplinary health care team who work together to gain the best outcomes for their consumer based on their goals and health needs.

You will be assisting mainly older people and community clients living at home, vulnerable and requiring home modifications and/or assistance with daily living activities. You will be responsible for the professional occupational therapy assessment, treatment, management and evaluation of occupational therapy clients.

Essential Criteria:
  • AHPRA registration as Occupational therapist
  • Membership with Victorian health professionals association or working towards.
  • Current police check, drivers licence and working with childrens check, or working towards
  • Demonstrated ability to practice collaboratively and work effectively as part of multidisciplinary health care team
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, written, verbal and ICT skills
  • Embodies person centered care in practice skills that align with AHPRA registration requirements & ANCI competencies
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families/carers, staff and management
  • Ability to provide timely care to patients
  • Ability to promote cultural diversity and awareness
  • Capacity to work in accordance with compliance requirements, policies, procedures and direction for example OH&S, Risk Management and Quality Improvement
  • Demonstrated currency of practice and continued professional development
  • Ability to adopt workplace wellness principles ensuring mental and physical self-care
About Practice:

The local public hospital has 69 approved acute beds, 30 nursing home beds and a 58 place supported residential service. Allied health and specialist services available include urology, respiratory, audiology, orthotics, podiatry, psychology, counselling, diabetes education, dietetics, O&G, occupational therapy, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, paediatrics, dermatology, ENT, dental, general surgery, and speech pathology.

This is a close knit team who are involved with activities outside the workplace such as the young professionals network, Rotary, and Promoting Portland Committee, touch football and strong support for the local football and netball clubs.
