Occupational Therapist - Robinvale


  • Full-time + ADO (no weekends and will consider part-time)

This is a unique role that offers so much diversity delivering services to children through to older adults in the community, private homes, inpatients, aged-care and schools. You will have an opportunity to work with a dynamic caseload where you will see many multicultural clients.

As well as providing clinical services in areas such as falls prevention, discharge planning and home safety, home modifications, prescribing tools and equipment, you will also take on health promotion and education activities.

Although you will be the only OT you will work alongside a large multi-disciplinary primary health team with the advantage of molding the role to suit you. Supervision and mentoring can be provided in the region so you will never feel isolated and this is a great opportunity to advance your skills and career.

Essential Criteria:
  • Bachelor of Applied Science in Occupational Therapy
  • Eligibility for membership of Australian Association of Occupational Therapists
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer literacy
  • Membership of Australian Association of Occupational Therapists
  • Experience in rural healthcare
  • Experience working with Indigenous and diverse cultures
  • An ability to facilitate exchange of ideas and development of relationships across cultural, service, sectoral and organisational boundaries
This multi-disciplinary health service provides services on behalf of the Murray/Western Primary Health Network aimed at improving the health status of communities through improved access to healthcare and preventative health programs. Primary Care services use a range of flexible service delivery models including individual and group consultation, health promotion and education to address the health needs of each community. Services are provided in a variety of locations, including schools and pre-schools, community health centres, hospitals and aged care facilities, community venues and clients homes. Clients of all ages can access the service.

 Robinvale is located on the Victoria/NSW border approximately 400km from Melbourne. In addition to having a large Indigenous population, Robinvale is very multicultural. Horticulture/agriculture is the region's largest industry, and largest employer.
