Occupational Therapist

Experienced Occupational Therapist required for this award-winning service based in Adelaide. The vacancy is a result of continued business growth. You will join a team of Occupational Therapists, Psychologists and Counsellors. Ideally, you will have the experience to mentor and support the junior OT on the team.

The office is based in central Adelaide, there will be travel across metro Adelaide. There is also scope to work from one of the other offices, or from home. Ideally, you will be available five days per week, however part time hours will be considered (minimum three days per week).

The service is an accredited NDIS provider and one of only 18 providers on the Federal Occupational Rehabilitation contract with the largest government departs (ATO, Depart of Defence, Services Australia, Immigration etc….)

The role offers a diversified caseload, including:

  • NDIS
  • Workers Compensation
  • Initially the caseload would be 95% NDIS, eventually the split will be 80/20

In NDIS, the focus will be to provide NDIS capacity building services and return to work to people with injury, illness or disability. You will be able to collaborate and form trusted relationships with key stakeholders, including support workers and related health care professionals. The whole of life service enables you to inspire the best outcome for the client (and for those around them). And you will be able to see the results of your work.

The majority of work is in undertaking Functional Assessments/Daily Living Needs/Home Modifications and equipment follow up and specific therapy as needed or identified by the OT. Clients are 15+ years of age.

The service also undertakes Behaviour Support Plans and would like for the OT to be open to this. Any major Psychological clients would be handled by the Psychology team.

In workers compensation, the work comes from DVA, RTWSA and Federal Departments (Services Australia, Depart of Defence, Immigration etc.). Typically, the OTs do one-off assessments in this space, i.e. worksite/ergonomic assessments, but can be asked to develop and implement a complete rehabilitation program, i.e. medical management, case conferencing with treating team and being the independent expert to lead best return to work outcomes for the worker. This is negotiable and not mandatory.

Salary range up to $85k + super + mileage + laptop + office space + admin support. A full driving license and comprehensive insurance is required.
