Patient Services Officer (Medical Receptionist)


We are seeking a suitably experienced Medical Receptionist/ Administrator to join our dynamic team at Balwyn, VIC. The Patient Services Officer provides administrative and support to staff, patients and clinicians to ensure that a high quality, professional and efficient administration service is consistently provided to patients.

What you’ll do:

  • Acting as the first point of contact and greeting patients on arrival
  • Making and managing patient appointments for numerous Specialists across multiple sites
  • Collecting patient information, maintaining patient privacy and accurate data entry
  • Completing cardiology related administration including document scanning
  • Managing a large volume of patient telephone enquiries
  • Billing and receipting of accounts to patients, Medicare and DVA
  • Liaising with Specialists, Nurses, Cardiac Physiologists and peers.
  • Completing tasks as allocated by Practice Manager and or Site Leader

Who you are:

  • Minimum of three years demonstrated experience in a similar role
  • Exceptional phone manner, excellent time management skills and the ability to multi task.
  • Ability to work autonomously and complete work within tight time frames.
  • Superior customer service and exceptional communication skills with the ability to work as an effective team member with flexibility to respond to fluctuating work flows
  • Positive, enthusiastic and a genuine love of working in a fast paced environment whilst maintaining a high level of quality and professionalism
  • Demonstrated understanding of medical terminology and familiarity with medical software applications
  • Proficient computer skills including typing, outlook, and word
  • Flexibility to cover at other locations
  • Cardiology experience preferred
