With a 40 year history, Nexus Primary Health (Nexus) pride themselves on being the "go to" organisation for primary health information and person-centred services , with offices located in Broadford, Wallan, Seymour and Kinglake and across the Mitchell, Murrindindi, Greater Shepparton and Strathbogie Shires. 

Opportunity for Grade 1 or 2 Physiotherapist who is passionate about making a difference to the lives of rural communities. Working in their dynamic friendly team across all Nexus sites and also on an outreach basis and in client homes where appropriate.

The Physiotherapy role forms part of the Adult Allied Health Team, which includes a variety of allied health disciplines who work together including participating in case conferencing and multidisciplinary care planning where appropriate.

The Physiotherapist will fulfill a flexible role in the provision of physiotherapy services by assessment and evidence-based treatment, development and regular review of Care Plans to adult and NDIS clients with  neurological, spinal, musculoskeletal and pain related conditions and other disabilities using a person-centred approach.

The role is designed to provide timely specialist physiotherapy assessment and intervention to clients through a number of funding sources; for example, NDIS, My Aged Care (Commonwealth Home Support Program and Home Care Packages), Community Health and MBS.

Grade 2 Physios will also have opportunity to supervise and support Grade 1 Physios and students, Allied Health Assistants and other students undertaking placements.  There is also Health education/Promotion responsibilities and you will play a role in the planning, implementation and evaluation processes of program development and projects.

Key Selection Criteria: (Please address this in your cover letter)
  • Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy)
  • Registration with AHPRA
  • Experience in working with clients with a disability who have an NDIS Plan
  • Understanding of the knowledge and skills required in working with diverse members of the community (desirable)
  • Eligible and willing to provide service under a variety of funding sources and to obtain practitioner provider numbers as required
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills and a philosophy of person-centred care and client empowerment
  • Ability to provide timely specialist physiotherapy assessment and intervention to clients through variety of funding sources, specifically NDIS but also My Aged Care, MBS and Community Health.
  • Membership of the Australian Physiotherapy Association (desirable)
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificate
  • Current Victorian Driver’s license
