Physiotherapy Manager - leadership and operational role

  • Grade 6 level role – salary approx. $157,000 + super
  • Lead a team of 100 + clinicians, including 14 direct reports

Senior Physiotherapist with leadership experience required for this management role in one of Melbourne’s leading hospitals. You will lead a team of 100 + clinicians, including 14 direct reports.

The role is full time and permanent. Remuneration at Grade 6, approx. $157,000 + super.

This is a leadership position, you will:

  • Provide governance of high quality, evidence based physiotherapy services to patients to meet service demand, including credentialed staff, recruitment of appropriately qualified practitioners, and evidence staff achieving high standards of clinical practice
  • Contribute to clinician development in the areas of quality improvement, service development, strategic thinking and problem solving, service innovation, change and evaluation
  • Inspire, drive, guide and support service development and best practice initiatives within Allied Health, and contributes to this throughout the Hospital and includes consumer voice
  • Complies with and implements Health Service and Divisional specific Regulations. Manage risk and actively work toward implementing risk reduction strategies.
  • Provides highly accountable and responsive Financial management, including budget-setting, achieving balanced scorecard target and relevant KPIs
  • Works with existing the Research infrastructure, to support research initiatives, and to facilitate team and interdisciplinary projects within the Hospital and external partners
  • Facilitates academic links and appointments with universities, including undergraduate and post graduate education

Selection criteria:

  • Extensive clinical knowledge and experience in Physiotherapy
  • Extensive leadership experience in the health sector in a senior management role
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a clear patient focus
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Dynamic and innovative approach to problem-solving
  • Demonstrated proficiency in financial and HR management
  • Extensive involvement in relevant professional association/s
  • Appropriate post-graduate qualifications in relevant field
