Practice Development Nurse

GenesisCare are looking for an insightful and committed Practice Development Nurse to join our Medical Oncology team in Joondalup, WA. This is a permanent part-time opportunity working 3 days per week (Wednesday/Thursday/Friday).

Leveraging our national professional development framework, this role involves providing clinical leadership, practice development, professional development and driving quality improvement across the nursing teams.

What you’ll do:

  • Assist Directors, Centre Leaders, Nurses and medical staff in providing safe and evidence-based patient care to all patients.
  • Facilitate a new graduate nursing program in collaboration with other Practice Development nurses from other sites
  • Enable collaboration amongst nursing teams to ensure consistent practices across all sites.
  • Run nursing on-boarding/inductions, training and ongoing professional practice development in alignment with the national framework.
  • Collaborative development of induction, education and training.
  • Quality improvement and implementation of evidence-based practice.
  • Ensure competency, education and training records of staff are monitored, maintained and documented.
  • Facilitate a culture of effectiveness and championing innovation in clinical practice.

Who you are:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a registered nurse leader ideally within medical oncology nursing.
  • ADAC chemotherapy competency.
  • Eligible for unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
  • Post graduate qualification in cancer care nursing (or working towards one).
  • Experience conducting and participating in audits and practice reviews.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development and delivery of education and training programs for nursing.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality of patient care.
  • Previous experience mentoring and providing clinical guidance to large teams.
  • Proven ability to coordinate workload to maximise skills of staff.
  • Commitment to and involvement in the application of quality improvement and evidence-based practice principles.
  • Flexible working style and able to adapt.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
