Do you want to make improvements to the lives of children and adults? An exciting opportunity exists to provide direct generalist counselling services to the community around the Gisborne and Macedon Ranges region within a multidisciplinary framework.

You will deliver and provide psychology services to the pediatric and youth community as well as support the MRH community health practice through group work and health promotion.

Working across different funding streams including NDIS, you will provide casework, referral, and advocacy to clients through individual and family group therapy work. Ensuring culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) and/or disadvantaged residents receive equitable access to services.

Key Selection Criteria: (please address this in your application)
  • Tertiary Qualifications in Psychology
  • Current registration AHPRA
  • Experience in paediatric and youth mental health management
  • Experience in community health or a community-based setting
  • Working with behavioural issues, emotional dysregulation, self-harming, suicidal ideations, family therapy, parenting a child with a disability
  • Competence in evidence-based therapies -CBT and its variants – ACT, DBT, etc
  • Good diagnostic/formulation/risk assessment skills. Evidence-based therapy for mood, anxiety (often in the context of grief, trauma).
  • Experience in the provision of group work
  • Knowledge of legislation relevant to your role, including Accreditation requirements
  • Demonstrated analytical, written & verbal skills (English)
  • Demonstrated Initiative & ability to work innovatively & unsupervised, both independently & within a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to liaise across the full spectrum of health and welfare services
  • Evidence of flexibility in approach to service delivery
  • Computer literacy
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for participating in the development of innovative models of care
  • Current and satisfactory Police Check and Working with Children Check
