About the Opportunity

CMSAC has an exciting new opportunity for a Registered Midwife to join their Maternal and Child Health Team.

As the Registered Midwife, you will be providing high quality and culturally appropriate midwifery care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander mothers, babies and children as they present to the CMSAC Maternal and Child Health Program.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing midwifery care and intervention in the CMSAC clinic, home and community environment;
  • Conducting health care/clinics including screening/ monitoring, antenatal and postnatal, infant maternal health care;
  • Assessing and developing health care plans in consultation with the GP's and other members of the Child Health Program;
  • Identifying and providing comprehensive physical, psychosocial and emotional care for individuals and groups;
  • Planning and evaluating preventative and health promotion programs

Our ideal candidate will possess a current registration with the Nurses and Midwives Registration Board of Western Australia (AHPRA) as a Midwife, have experience in community based, primary health and child health care, paediatric phlebotomy skills, the ability to undertake triage of clients and working knowledge of community midwifery practice and allied health teams.

The occupant must also have a sound understanding of the issues effecting and impacting on the health and well-being of Aboriginal people.
