ABOUT YOUR NEW ROLE:

Day Infusion Services is currently a 10 chair unit providing specialised care to oncology, haematology, neurology, rheumatology and gastroenterology patients. We are very excited that plans have been approved and commenced for a new modern 15 chair unit, hopefully ready for July 2025.

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic Oncology and Haematology nurse to join our friendly, caring, compassionate team in Day Infusion Services at St Vincent’s Private Hospital, Fitzroy campus. We have part time / full time / casual working vacancies available.

Our wonderful supportive caring team provide patients with many different infusions including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, monoclonal antibodies, iron infusions and blood transfusions. All our staff are chemotherapy competent and we follow EVIQ guidelines. Our main goals of care include a supportive and holistic environment for patients and their families embedding St Vincent's core values.

Chemotherapy, cannulation and CVAD trained nurses would be required. We focus on constant professional development and encourage all staff to up skill and stay abreast to the latest research and best practice.

Responsibilities will include (but will not be limited to);

  • High levels of nursing assessment, managing acute settings within a rapidly changing environment
  • Effective communication skills with patients, families and allied health professionals
  • Understanding cytotoxic regimens and their treatment plans,
  • Administration or chemotherapy, orally and intravenously
  • Confidently applying CVAD management, and cannulation
  • To be competent in MOSAIQ

The successful candidate will have;

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
  • Willingness to undertake further studies or to pursue other self-development activities
  • Proficiency in email software and electronic communication
  • Positive team member with dedication to excellent patient outcomes
