About the role:
Our client provides leading edge palliative care services to patients and whānau to promote wellness and encourage a high quality of life for those living with life limiting illnesses. As an integral part of the local community this service offers support to palliative patients in a beautiful setting. They are a dynamic team who are constantly striving to improve how they operate and everyone who works there plays a crucial part. Due to various staff leave they are looking for cover of around 3 months. Bring your passion, knowledge and experience to help shape their future.

You will be responsible for delivering exceptional support and services to patients and whānau in a community setting. There are opportunities to work in IPU as well. Provide holistic assessments and care planning programs. As part of a team collaborate in partnership with the patient and whanau to provide wrap-around care and ensure our patients are able to live their last years of life to the highest of standards

  • IPU: 24x7 cover over 8 hour rotational roster shifts
  • Community: Monday to Friday 8:00 – 16:30 + rostered weekends

Skills & Experience:

  • A current New Zealand Practicing Certificate as a Registered Nurse
  • Experience in completing full, comprehensive assessments
  • Palliative , oncology, haematology or aged care experience
  • Be experienced in wound care, medication and pain management
  • Exceptional communication skills that allow you to effectively liaise with other health professionals and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Multi-cultural awareness
  • Right to work in New Zealand
  • Full clean driving licence for the community role
