GenesisCare Oncology has an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to support our regional community in Bundaberg whilst still being able to enjoy the beautiful beaches on the Sunshine State!!!

This permanent full-time position will suit a driven, enthusiastic and qualified Registered Nurse looking to join a growing and dynamic team in a centre hosting state of the art equipment.

Under our Regional policy:

Why Bundaberg?
The city of Bundaberg is the southernmost gateway to the Great Barrier Reef. It is fringed by beautiful coral bays, lagoons and 140 kilometres of pristine white beaches. The beautiful beachside suburb of Bargara is only 15 minutes away.

It is a short drive to Mon Repos Regional Park, home to the largest concentration of nesting sea turtles on the East Coast. Bundaberg is also the base for diving and snorkelling trips to Lady Musgrave Island and Lady Elliot Island, as well as swimming and fishing from coastal national parks.

You will also be able to explore the cities museums, heritage buildings and lush botanic gardens and the famous Bundaberg Rum Distillery.

What you’ll do:

  • Be responsible for providing best practice oncology nursing services and consistently demonstrating high standards of clinical, administrative and patient care
  • Undertake patient interaction, communications, education, wound management and drug administration and drug administration as per Practice Protocol or as specifically directed by the Doctor
  • Effectively manage nursing patient load
  • Facilitate effective lines of communication with doctors, patient services, physics, and radiation therapy staff and provide feedback to the doctors and radiation therapy staff as relevant regarding their patients
  • Ensure all patient listed events are documented, communicated and actioned
  • Monitor and maintain procedures, protocols, practices and clinical guidelines in line with best practice radiation oncology nursing standards

Who you are:

  • Completion of a Degree or Diploma in Nursing
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Clinical experience as a nurse and a demonstrated understanding of oncology and allied health care.
  • Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to demonstrate empathy for patients and their carers
  • Well developed analytical and problem solving skills
  • Commitment to the application of quality improvement and best practice principles, Including the NSQHS
  • Strong commitment to quality patient care
