Registered Nurse/Enrolled nurse

Working as part of a team with GPs , Nurses and Allied health to deliver quality primary care nursing within a multidisciplinary approach. You will support all areas of primary care nursing including triage , procedures and chronic disease management with opportunity of nurse led clinic from time to time.

Comprehensive orientation and induction program will be offered to the right candidate along with flexible working hours and negotiated salary above award depending on skills and experience.

As part of this supportive team you will have an access to regular shared learning calendar with internal and external presentation providers. You will also receive clinical supervision and mentoring.

Essential Criteria:
  • Tertiary qualifications/Division 1 and Endorsed qualifications/Division 2 and experience in the primary health care sector
  •  Proven ability to work as a highly effective member of a team including as part of a diverse group of allied and health care professionals and ability to provide clinical leadership and nurturing to medical and nurse students and GP Registrars.
  •  Ability to lead innovative practices.
  • Sound knowledge of the general practice environment and its relationship to the broader health sector and local community.
  • Extensive experience and knowledge in general primary care nursing and the day-to-day operations or demonstrated capacity to acquire same.
  • Demonstrated patient – focused approach to service provision.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication and team work skills including written, verbal and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership to the Practice, both internally and with external stakeholders.
  • A commitment to and experience in a continuing quality improvement approach to maintaining accreditation.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development.  It is a requirement to participate in relevant CPD activities pursuant with National Registration requirements including annual CPR.
Additional requirements:
  • Availability for weekend and evening work or training as required
  • Current Victorian Driver’s License and access to a private vehicle
  • Appointment and ongoing employment is subject to satisfactory police records check
Highly desirable:
  • Understanding of the Medicare Benefits Schedule – especially in relation to Chronic Disease & Primary Care Nurse item numbers.
  • Experience with Team Care Arrangements & knowledge of local community resources.
  • Qualified Nurse Immuniser including current credentialing in nurse immunisation or working towards the same.  Asthma educator & knowledge of spirometry
