Registrar/PHO Obs and Gynae

The Role:
We are looking for suitably experienced Obs and Gynae PHO’s/Registrars, to join a dedicated and supportive team.

You will be expected to provide day to day medical services in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G) department.

This is to include, but is not limited to, the following: daily ward rounds of all inpatients, attend clinics as required, attend promptly to emergency cases in Department of Emergency Medicine, upon referral, care of women in labour, such as interpreting CTG's, assessing progress of a labour, management of obstetric emergencies such as post-partum haemorrhage, eclampsia, cord prolapse, shoulder dystocia etc and participation in discharge planning process.
· You will participate in after hour's shifts as rostered, this will include night shifts
· Provide formal and informal teaching to interns/JHOs/SHOs in the clinical unit
· Provide teaching to medical students as required

You will receive a competitive remuneration package value up to $153,876 p.a., comprising salary between $113,480 - $131,570 p.a. (L4-L9), employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%), annual leave loading (17.5%) and vocational training subsidy.

The Hospital was established in 1900, it has undergone a multimillion-dollar redevelopment to become a modern Hospital that provides high quality care within an environment of continuous improvement. Services available at the Hospital include 5 intensive care beds, coronary care, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, general, orthopaedic and vascular surgery, 24-hour emergency medicine, renal dialysis unit, a level 2 special-care nursery of neonates and a comprehensive Integrated Mental Health Service.

Skills & Qualifications required:
Relevant Obs and Gynae experience to work at the level of a PHO/Registrar
Current AHPRA registration - preferred
