What you should know about us

Sunrise Health Service Aboriginal Corporation is an Aboriginal community controlled health organisation.

Our health centres service nine communities spread over 45,000 square kilometres in the Roper River region. The Sunrise footprint covers Aboriginal communities that have some of the most untouched beautiful landscapes to explore where the locals are welcoming and ready to share their culture.

We invite you to join our operation in working to uphold our vision in promoting wellness and health in our communities. We are currently looking for AHPRA registered nurses to work as Remote Area Nurses in our remote health centres on a full-time basis or supporting you in taking on a full time Health Centre Manager role.

Remote Area Nurse

As a Remote Area Nurse you will work in one of our health centres from Monday to Friday alongside our dedicated professional team to provide the highest possible standard of culturally appropriate health care. Some on-call work is required.

Health Centre Manager

As a Health Centre Manager, you will work from Monday to Friday and manage a cohesive and multidisciplinary healthcare team. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the daytoday operations of the health centre, including staff management, rostering, planning, portfolio management, pharmacy, consumables and assets management. Some on-call work is required.

What you'll need to succeed

To work at Sunrise Health you will hold, or have the ability to attain, a current registration with AHPRA as a registered nurse, a current drivers licence, a recent nonadverse criminal history check, the right to work in Australia, and a valid OCHRE card (working with vulnerable people). As per the CHO order 55/2021, employees are required to provide evidence of having completed two (2) COVID-19 vaccinations or in certain circumstances evidence of a medical exemption.

Successful candidates across either role must be able to demonstrate a commitment to the objectives and ethos of an Aboriginal community controlled health service, demonstrate respect for Aboriginal culture, and be willing to learn from Aboriginal community members, Aboriginal Health Practitioners, and other indigenous community outreach team members.

Your well-developed interpersonal skills will enable you to communicate confidently and effectively as you build collaborative relationships with many internal and external clients, partners and stakeholders. It's essential that you can tailor your approach to the needs of each individual, be able to identify their strengths and build effective relationships with parents and children.

What you'll receive in return

This is an incredibly rewarding opportunity to work with an organisation that's building remote Aboriginal communities' capacities to improve their health and wellbeing.

Highly attractive salary packages on offer up to circa $175,000 for a Remote Area Nurse and generous packages on offer, open to negotiation, for a Health Centre Manager.
