Social Worker or Psychology Manager : Swan Hill

This is a unique opportunity to have both a clinical hands-on and leadership position within a professional, committed workforce and highly supportive community.  Working within a new building complex, the successful applicant will get the chance to work with a variety of clinical caseloads whilst leading a team.

Providing evidence-based counselling modalities to meet the needs of the community. This will include individual, family and group counselling for a wide range of issues. The role will also coordinate, supervise and monitor all administrative, clinical and evaluation responsibilities for the Department of Counselling.

Reporting directly to the Primary Care Executive Officer you will communicate effectively with the administration staff, counsellors, nurse and other department managers. Provide clinical leadership, education & staff development and professional studies to ensure career development.

You will be offered professional development, leadership training, supervision and peer support for finance, budgeting and HR tasks. This is a rare opportunity to use your clinical skills and gain a sense of achievement in leadership.

Essential Criteria:
  • Qualification in Psychology, Social work and or as required by the funding body.
  • According to discipline requirements current registration with the appropriate Occupation Association.
  • Knowledge and experience re therapeutic interventions and client management.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality client service and working knowledge of quality improvement.
  • Ability to work independently and with initiative in management and clinical roles, including reporting and budget/target management.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills that incorporate the qualities of excellent communication and leadership
  • Demonstrated experience to lead a team and provide direction and staff/team management Advanced / Intermediate / basic word processing, data entry and internet search skills.
  • Must be able to obtain Medicare provider number
  • Highly developed organization, planning, problem solving and change management skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Professional Development and continuing education.
