Speech Therapist -Gisborne

An exciting opportunity exists for a Speech therapist to work within community health and aged care in and around the Gisborne region. Working with a multidisciplinary team you will assess, diagnose, plan and execute speech pathology treatments ensuring Culturally and Linguistically Diverse and/or disadvantaged clients receive equitable access to services. The role includes quality improvement, individual and group program planning, health promotion and implementing new service strategies.

Essential Criteria
  • Tertiary Qualifications in Speech Pathology
  • Registration with the Speech Pathology Australia
  • Experience working in varied community settings and with varied client caseload
  • Evidence of innovation and flexibility in approach to service delivery
  • Knowledge of legislation relevant to your role, including Accreditation
  • Demonstrated analytical, written & verbal skills (English)
  • Demonstrated Initiative & ability to work innovatively & unsupervised, both independently & within a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to liaise across the full spectrum of health and welfare services
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, plan and implement new Speech Pathology service strategies
  • Current Victorian Drivers Licence
  • Computer literacy
  • An understanding of the principles of Health Promotion
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, plan and implement new service strategies
Desirable
  • Experience in initiating, planning, implementing and monitoring individual and group programs
  • Evidence of commitment to continuous quality improvement and professional development
  • Evidence of ability to develop strong working relationships with a range of people both internal and external to the organisation
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for participating in the development of innovative models of care
  • Experience in, children's health (paediatrics)
  • Evidence of commitment to continuous quality improvement and professional development
