IAIM Australia
IAIM Australia Inc. is a not-for-profit charity and official partner to the World Health Organisation. We provide nationally accredited training for health professionals who have an interest in infant development and mental health promotion.
This world-class training program, endorsed for CPD, will provide you with a unique approach to providing strengths-based support to new parents and will qualify you to deliver the First Touch Program to families.
The IAIM First Touch Program® is currently used in hospitals, NICUs, community settings, prisons, mental health services, rehab services, child protection services, early intervention hubs and other settings across Australia to support parents to respond sensitively to their babies through touch, massage, voice, movement and other interactions. The program:
* Uses strengths-based approaches to support parents to use infant massage, gentle touch, movement, voice, eye-contact and other interactions in response to their baby’s cues.
* Is evidence-supported (incl. randomised controlled trials).
* Reduces key infant mental health risk factors.
* Is cross-culturally adaptable.
* Can be integrated within existing service models (home visiting, supported groups, in-patient settings, etc.)
Enrol today, and on completion of your course you will be qualified as a Certified Infant Massage Instructor, and fully-trained to deliver the full First Touch Program® to parents and families. Places on the training program are strictly limited to allow for small class sizes and inividualised attention. Training is nationally-accredited, meets the relevant national (government) competency standards, and is delivered in partnership with Relationships Australia SA.
